Going Mobile

Greetings!

Several new things to discuss here today: First, recently i performed at Robin's Bookstore in downtown Philly, and learned that the event was filmed as part of the Philadelphia Poetic Arts Project, an extremely excellent group of people. Here is a link to one of the videos where I read "Ode to Insomnia" from here you can find other performances from that night (as well as two other readings I did). Secondly, here are some new pieces written over the past couple of weeks while working long hours to save for a transportation vehicle (of which has been recently obtained hopefully leading to more performances) enjoy.

Peace and Enlightenment,
Jon

So I have been standing here,
numerically meditating in a
fixed upright position, while
drifting in and out of fragments
of demands and pleas.
Blindly rushing for fear of
not "keeping up", so i am
essentially silent save for streams
of pre-written polite exchanges,
baffling empty language.
Watching from apathetic eyes,
strangers passing between,
& sirens rolling down the grey avenues.

Wine
Home now,
beautifully spent,
wasting away in bed,
drinking deep the succulent fruit,
while the room swirls.
And out come the beautiful devils
to kiss you good-night!
And I am now in the frame
of mind to expose these secrets
I've held for so long.
I am now in the frame of mind
to dance wildly in the soft
song of my youth.
Propelling the self forward is key to
retaining faith, so I leap into
destruction to save my wretched self.
